Mr. Tony Dunin MBBS FRACS FA OrthA
Mr Tony Dunin has been in orthopaedic practice for over 20 years. He specializes in hip and knee surgery and has extensive experience in total hip and knee replacement surgery. He was originally exposed to the anterior approach for hip replacement surgery in 1986 when he worked for Professor Emile Letournel from Paris.
Mr Dunin commenced using the anterior minimally invasive approach (AMIS®) for hip replacement in 2008. He has become enthusiastic about this approach and is now teaching this technique to younger surgeons. Many of the patients having this technique have been amazed by the quick recovery and small incision. In addition, the patients are very glad that they have no restrictions placed on them in the early recovery because of the low risk of hip dislocation.

Mr Ilan Freedman is a Melbourne Orthopaedic Surgeon with two International Hip Surgery Fellowships. Mr Freedman specialises in Direct Anterior Approach Hip Replacement and Hip Arthroscopy. He has trained under surgical experts in his field in Australia and in Europe. His practice is focused on Minimally Invasive Hip Surgery to facilitate rapid recovery following surgery.
After training as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in Melbourne, Mr Freedman completed a Clinical Fellowship in Hip Preservation Surgery with Prof. Damian Griffin at the internationally renowned Hip Preservation Unit in Warwick, UK.
He learnt the latest Hip Arthroscopy (keyhole) techniques and was involved in the treatment of high demand athletes such as English Premier League Footballers, Olympic Athletes, British Armed Forces, and Dancers from the Royal Ballet School as well as many amateur sports people.
Ilan then undertook a second Fellowship in Paris, France under leading surgeon, Dr Frederic Laude. Dr Laude pioneered the Direct Anterior Approach for hip replacement. This surgery technique uses an intermuscular (between muscles) approach, rather than cutting through muscle. This facilitates rapid rehabilitation following surgery.

He is frequently asked to present both nationally and internationally on these subjects.
Mr O’Donnell is the Chairman of the Orthopaedic Division at Mercy Private Hospital.
His major fields of interest are Arthroscopic Hip Surgery and Hip Joint Replacement.
He is a Founding member of the International Society for Hip arthroscopy, and is a Member of The Arthroplasty Society (Australia).

We are pleased to provide you with information and addresses of surgeons in your area.
While our database of surgeons is large, it is not a complete listing of all surgeons in your area or all of Medacta’s customers. The surgeons
presented here include only those surgeons who have followed our training program. This is the criteria for their inclusion in that list. No surgeon
has paid a fee to be nominated in the list. Medacta makes no endorsement, recommendation or referral regarding any of these specific surgeons. The
list is created independent of a surgeon's decision on the use of certain products. Nothing in connection with the list implies that Medacta expects
the listed surgeons, and / or any employing entity, to recommend or encourage the prescribing, dispensing, use or sale of any Medacta product.
