Hospital for Special Surgery has consistently been ranked as the number one hospital for orthopaedic surgery in North America. During this one year fellowship Dr Dewar worked with Dr David Helfet and developed his skills in complex pelvic and acetabular trauma, simple and complex upper and lower limb trauma and fracture non union surgery.

Dr Dewar is significantly involved in research with multiple international presentations and publications. He is currently completing his PhD at the University of Newcastle and has most recently presented his work at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons meeting in Las Vegas.

Mr John O’Donnell has been performing hip arthroscopy since 1990 and is one of the most experienced hip arthroscopy Surgeons in the world.

He graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1977 and completed orthopaedic training in 1985.

Mr O’Donnell undertook further training and study overseas in the UK, France and Austria and then returned to Melbourne to take up appointments at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Royal Children’s Hospital.

He initially developed an interest in shoulder surgery and particularly arthroscopic shoulder surgery. The experience gained in this area was invaluable in developing techniques and instrumentation to use in the new field of hip arthroscopy.

Mr John O’Donnell has a commitment to providing the best possible care to patients with hip problems, and also to providing education to other Surgeons and health workers both in Australia and overseas. He maintains the only Fellowship program in hip arthroscopy in Australia and runs hip arthroscopy training courses for Surgeons four times per year.

He is a Founding Member of the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy and is the current Editorial Secretary. He is the first and founding President of the Hip Arthroscopy section of the Australian Arthrosplasty Society. Mr Parminder J Singh is an Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon based in East Melbourne. He was appointed onto the Oxford Specialist Registrar Orthopaedic Training Programme in 2003 and completed his Orthopaedic Training in 2008 where he obtained his Fellowship to the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Tr & Orth).

Mr Singh has specialist training in Hip and Knee Arthroscopy and Joint replacement surgery completing two fellowships; firstly in Melbourne with one of the highest volume hip arthroscopy surgeons in the world and then in London at the highest volume elective joint replacement centre in the United Kingdom.

Mr Parminder Singh is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Monash University in Melbourne, Director of Orthopaedic Research and Education at Eastern Health and is on the Editorial Subcommittee for the International Society of Hip Arthroscopy. He has published numerous book chapters, clinical papers and abstracts and has co-authored two books"100 Cases in Orthopaedics & Rheumatology", 2012 "and ‘Techniques in Hip Arthroscopy, 2008:

Mr Singh regularly presents at a National and International Orthopaedic Scientific Meetings and since 2009 has been an active Faculty member co-running Instructional Hip Arthroscopy courses for Orthopaedic Surgeons and Physiotherapists in Melbourne Australia.

A/Prof. Phong Tran, completed his undergraduate training at Monash University in 1999 and completed his training in orthopaedic surgery in 2007. In 2009, A/Prof. Tran undertook fellowship training at orthopaedic centres in Germany specialising in sports injury and arthroscopic surgery. During 2010 he continued his fellowship training with Mr. John O'Donnell, specialising in:
• hip arthroscopy,
• femoracetabular impingement (FAI),
• anterior muscle sparing hip replacement.

A/Prof. Tran is dedicated to providing excellence in care in both public and private hospitals, and is the Head of Orthopaedic Unit at Western Health.

A/Prof.Tran has been awarded numerous prizes including 2001 NeurosurgeryPrize (RACS), 2002 Bennett Research Prize (RACS), 2002 Best Paper – Southern Trauma Symposium, and the 2007 Registrar Prize (AORA). In 2010 and 2011 he was awarded the Western Health Innovation Award, 2011 SACS Victorian Leadership Award and Highly Commended at the 2011 Victorian Health Awards. A/Prof. Tran is the chief editor of the surgeon training website Orthofracs.com and patient education website Orthoanswer.org. He is also an assistant editor of Australian New Zealand Journal of Surgery.
