Medacta’s core philosophy is based on the belief that innovation is the key to success. The company consistently strives to develop and deliver cutting edge solutions for Orthopaedics. MyPAO is a unique platform based on Patient Matched Technology to assist the surgeon during Periacetabular Osteotomy procedures, allowing to achieve the planned acetabular repositioning.
MyPAO platform consists of CT based 3D pre-operative planning report, 3D pre-op and post-op bone models, patient-specific realignment guides and cortical screws.
Unique solution to assist during acetabular re-alignment in PAO procedures
Reduction of intra-op X-Ray dose to the patient (the patient-specific guides allow to achieve the desired repositioning)
Potential reduction of surgical time
3D printed bone models to evaluate pre-op and post-op anatomy (on demand)
Medacta Surgical Planning Report is a Custom-Made device, that includes all the relevant preoperative anatomic data of the patient’s hip and a proposal for the postoperative position of the mobilized acetabulum, complete with a simulation of the expected postoperative data:
and perform pre-holes through the bushes of the guide using a Ø3.2mm drill bit.
perform the osteotomy manually, as per standard surgical technique, and mobilize the acetabulum.
on the bone fragments and secure them using Ø5mm pins.
with the acetabular guide and secure them using the dedicated key.
on the pin positioned on the iliac crest and lock the realignment arc to stabilize the assembly.
Using k-wires before removal of MyPAO guides. Perform final osteotomy fixation using cortical screws, as per standard PAO surgical technique.
Standard Stainless steel cortical screws developed for PAO applications, provided sterile
Medacta receives the CT images of the patient's hip.
Starting from the 3D reconstruction of the joint and followinf the surgeon preferences, the MyPAO preoperative planning is performed.
Once the preoperative planning has been confirmed by the surgeon, patient specific guides and/or bone models are manufactured in-house.
